Hilton Jerome Ross was born on September 12, 1961, to the late Hilton “Buster” Ross and Lillie M. Hartsfield Ross Young of Quincy, FL. He departed this life on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Indian River Center, Melbourne, FL after a lengthy illness.
Hilton was educated in the public schools of Gadsden County, Quincy, FL. At an early age, he attended St. Hebron AME Church, Quincy, FL until his adulthood. He was self-employed as an A/C repairman and spent his spare time fishing. He also served in the United States Army in Infantry. He was preceded in death by his father Hilton “Buster” Ross and stepfather Rev. Morris F. Young.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Lillie Hartsfield Young, sister Marilyn Ross Smith (Levi) of Cocoa; one half-sister Cindy Ross Stovall of Springfield, MA; brothers Wayne Alexander, Marcus Maurice, and Curtis Odester Ross of Quincy, FL; step brothers Kenneth Young and three stepsisters, Sharon McGhee and Agnes Green of Quincy, FL and Betty Dancy of Miami, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to thank family and friends for their prayers, words of comfort, and support. A special thanks to Hilton's Hospice and Transition team, Cocoa Parkinson's Support Group, Brevard Veterans Roundup Support Group, Indian River Center, and all of his caregivers.
