Joy A. McSevney, 75, of Melbourne, FL passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at
William Childs Hospice Palm Bay. She now rejoices in Heaven with her Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. Joy and her husband, Rev. Ian McSevney, a retired
Presbyterian minister, served for nearly fifty years in churches in the Caribbean,
Pennsylvania and Florida. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she was the daughter of the
late Allan and Erminie Delfosse. Joy had an engaging smile, a wonderful sense of
humor and deep love for people. Along with being a pastor’s wife, she served in a
supervisory role on the administrative team at Coral Ridge Ministries in Fort
Lauderdale. Her business savvy and talent for gardening and design enabled Joy to
own and operate a small plant nursery that blessed the lives of many others.
Besides her husband, Joy is survived by a brother, Tony Delfosse (Judy) of Stuart
and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 pm on
Saturday, April 13th, at Northside Presbyterian Church, Melbourne. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be sent to the Missions Fund at Northside Presbyterian
Church, 1400 Lake Washington Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935.
