Mavis D Banks

Mavis Dorothy Banks (Tuts) (Nay Nay), 73 of Palm Bay, FL passed away on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at William Childs Hospice Palm Bay, FL. Miss Banks was born in Pigeon Valley, St. Andrew Jamaica West Indies to the loving parents of Sydney Roy Banks and Rosene Agatha Banks. She attended Unity Primary School. She worked in the Finance Department as a General Accounting Clerk for the Ministry of Public Works where she was in charge of payroll/salaries and stores. She then went to work for the Office of The Prime  Minister as an accountant and she then retired early to take care of her mom. Mavis enjoyed spending time with her family. She would often be found working in the garden. She was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking meals for her family. She Loved to Dance.... keeping everything tidy was her thing. She kept her house clean all the time and she liked to Crochet. 

Mavis was survived by her loving daughter Kerry Deslandes (Prendergast) of Palm Bay, FL, 3  grandchildren, Anon Anderson, and Djavaa & Ajmaani Whitter. Five Brothers and 2 Sisters; Alan Rainford, Donald Banks, Stanley Banks, Carlton Banks, Carey Banks, Ruthlin Finter, and Lurline Marsh. She was also survived by her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.  She also leaves her best friend and confidant Angelia Beckford (Nona), and her husband Arthur Bechford (Papa) of Miami Florida. 

She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Zoe Olivia Prendergast. A Memorial Service will be planned for a later date. Her Cremated Remains will be laid to rest in Jamaica West Indies at a later date.
