Miguel Piloto Obituary

English version below:

Miguel Ángel was born on December 5, 1948, in Pinar del Río, Cuba. He is survived by his beloved wife, Estrella Piloto; his two daughters, Kendra García and Maidelys Vázquez; his sons-in-law, whom he loved as his own, Carlos García and Roberto Vázquez; his two grandchildren, Lorelai and Lucas Vázquez; and his nieces and nephews, Gudel, Karen, and Elienai Piloto. He was preceded in death by his sister Milagros, who passed away at the young age of eighteen; his dear brother Gudel, whom he loved dearly; and his parents, Miguel María and Juana Labrador.

From a very young age, Miguel was known for his strong faith in Jehovah God. At just fifteen years old, during a time of persecution in Cuba, he served time in prison for standing firm in his beliefs—a testament to his courage, conviction, and devotion. His faith remained an essential part of his life until his final moments.

Miguel loved his dear wife, Estrellita, intensely. Until his final days, he always wanted to be close to her and give her a kiss before saying goodbye. Miguel loved fishing, cooking for his family, singing, listening to music, dancing, and spending time with those he loved most. He especially enjoyed classical Cuban music and boleros, including the songs of Benny Moré. At family gatherings, he was known for telling jokes—often the same ones—yet he managed to make everyone laugh every single time.

Despite his illness, Miguel never lost his faith; he spoke of it openly with everyone he could. In the final days of his life, he listened to Kingdom Melodies together with his family. On Wednesday, May 13th, at 3:45 a.m., he passed away peacefully while holding the hands of his two daughters, with his wife by his side, as the melodies played.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His family maintains the faith and hope that very soon they will be reunited with him again in the future earthly paradise promised by Jehovah.
