Wanda Peace Hoots, 72, of Palm Bay, FL, passed away Monday, January 27th, 2025, in the presence of her loving family. She was born on March 22, 1952, to Ansel Peace (d) and Elizabeth Kuykendall Peace (d) of Flat Rock, North Carolina. Wanda grew up in the Flat Rock/Hendersonville, North Carolina area and graduated from East Henderson, High School in the class of 1970. Throughout her childhood and into her adulthood, Wanda traveled all over the southeastern United States, singing with her father and brothers in The Ansel Peace Family. She married the love of her life, Larry Hoots (d) on December 12, 1969. They had their first son, Shane, in 1971, and their son, Chris in 1974. Then in January of 1988, they adopted a newborn, Jonathan. Throughout the 1980’s Wanda worked for the Henderson County Sherriff’s Department. Throughout her tenure there, she worked in communications and civil process. She became the first female Captain Deputy Sherriff in western North Carolina. She was instrumental in implementing the 911 system for Henderson County. Wanda and Larry moved to Florida in 1995, where She worked in the medical field, starting as a billing representative. She worked her way up to the position of office manager for a practice of over 20 doctors, and their staff. In addition, she was a pastor’s wife. Through over 50 years of ministry, she and her husband pastored several churches and were the founding pastors of Brevard Worship Center in Malabar, Florida. Together, Wanda and Larry were a great team, ministering, building, and teaching in churches. Wanda is survived by her three sons, Shane, Chris (Corrie),Jonathan and her grandchildren, Riley (Victoria), Evan, Kaylynn, and Miya. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
